The Mt. Pleasant Patriot organization, also referred to as AHAMP (Amateur Hockey Association of Mt. Pleasant) offers hockey for beginners in our Learn to Play Program for ages 3-8 all the way up to 14U Bantam level of player.  The Patriot program plays under Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) and their affiliation with USA Hockey.

NECK LACERATION PROTECTION REQUIRED FOR ALL PLAYERS

Neck laceration protection requirements began August 1, 2025 for players in all age classifications, other than adult, during both games and practices, as well as for on-ice officials under the age of 18.  The requirement includes players in the youth, girls and junior age classifications.  For more information, click HERE.

AHAMP is committed to growing the sport of hockey and providing a multitude of strong and essential skills development opportunities and programs for beginner through Bantam levels. The Learn to Play (LTP) Program is a beginner level program for ages 3 and up, who have no, or very little, prior skating experience and wish to try hockey - or get prepared for team play. 

Participants will learn how to skate and be introduced to hockey play by skilled coaches and instructors in a progressive and sequential manner. This is small group instruction with focused, personalized development.

LTP offers two sessions for players to learn the great game of hockey!  Each session meets 10 times.

Cost: $150 per session
